MEET THE AUTHOR

 

Laura Theodore is an award-winning public television personality, vegan chef, radio host, cookbook author and recording artist. Ms. Theodore is the author of two previous cookbooks: Jazzy Vegetarian Classics: Vegan Twists on American Family Favorites and Jazzy Vegetarian: Lively Vegan Cuisine That’s Easy and Delicious. In 2015, Jazzy Vegetarian was winner of a TASTE AWARD for Best Health and Fitness Program (Food and Diet) and Jazzy Vegetarian was inducted into the TASTE HALL of FAME. In 2014, Laura was honored with a “Special Achievement Taste-Award” along with the likes of Martha Stewart and Emeril Lagasse; she has also been recognized by VegNews magazine with a “Totally Tubular Veggie Award.”

 

In addition to her own books, Laura was a major contributor to The China Study All-Star Collection, and her recipes can be found in the Amazon number one bestseller, Living the Farm Sanctuary Life, by Gene Baur. Laura is the on-camera host of the highly successful, award-winning Jazzy Vegetarian cooking series on public television, presently available in over 88% of U.S. households nationwide. Ms. Theodore hosts the popular podcast radio show, Jazzy Vegetarian Radio, now in its seventh year. Guest television appearances include The Talk (CBS), Insider/Entertainment Tonight (HBO Red Carpet), News 4-NBC, Fox News 8, The Better Show (BVN) and the WCBS Health & Wellbeing Report. In addition to her weekly food column for Mother Earth Living, Laura has been featured in the New York Times, New York Daily News, VegNews, Family Circle, Readers Digest, PBS Food, Naked Food and Healthy Aging, among other highly respected news, food and lifestyle-related journals.

 

A critically acclaimed jazz singer and songwriter, Laura received a “Musician Magazine Award” for Tonight’s the Night; Golden Earrings was on the GRAMMY® list in the category of “Best Jazz Vocal Album.” Two years in the Off Broadway hit show Beehive earned her a coveted “Backstage Bistro Award” and she won a Denver Critics Drama Circle “Best Actress Award” for her starring role in the world premiere of Love, Janis.
